MUST see sights!

Northern Lights Tour

Iceland is one of the best places in the world to experience the Northern Lights. You may even be able to spot them from downtown Reykjavík, but the best place to see them within the city area is probably by the seaside at Seltjarnarnes. There you will be away from the street lights and be able to take in the full experience. The area of Grótta is particularly nice, many birds nest there and there is also a charming old lighthouse.

Anywhere where you can get as much as possible away from the light pollution of the city is a good location, so pick your spot along the coastline looking out towards the sea. Check out available tours here.

The Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon is located in the town of Grindavik, approximately 12 miles from Keflavik Airport (20 mins by car) and 24 miles from the city of Reykjavík (50 mins by car). It’s recommended that you rent a car or purchasing a transfer from a local tour company to get there as taxis in Iceland are incredibly expensive.

Visiting the Blue Lagoon requires pre-booking. Tickets can be bought from any tour company or directly from the Blue Lagoon website. You must purchase your tickets in advance and they will be cheaper the further out in advance you book them. Book your tickets here.

The Golden Circle Tour

Visit the Gullfoss waterfall, the bubbling pools and Strokkur waterspout at Geysir and the incredible tectonic rift at Thingvellir National Park, whilst learning from a knowledgeable guide. Click here for tickets and further information.
