Weekend Guide to beautiful Paris!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of experiencing a city break to Paris and absolutely fell in love with the city even more (this is the second time I have been)! From the food, buildings, pretty streets and atmosphere, Paris has definitely made it into my top 3 favourite cities in the world now! I did this trip solo (my first one!) and I was a little apprehensive on route on the Eurostar but when I arrived all those nerves went away and I honestly had the best time! So for anyone considering booking a solo trip, go for it as you won't regret it I promise!

Where to stay

I stayed at the beautiful Hotel Rochechouart and adored it! This is my favourite area in Paris as it’s at the bottom of the hustle and bustle of Montemarte with so many amazing cafes, restaurants, shops and bakery on my door step! Set in the 9th Arrondissement, it was about a 30 minute walk to the main sights but I didn’t mind that as it was nice to be in a quieter area and enjoy the pretty streets on route. The hotel has a beautiful rooftop bar with amazing views and lovely selection of drinks, nibbles and tacos! I paid £220 a night (not including breakfast) for a classic room but to my luck I was upgraded to a suite with an amazing living room and balcony! Paris pricing is similar to London - you pay for location and it was definitely worth it!

What to do

To be honest just wandering the streets and seeing the beautiful buildings is enough to keep anyone busy!

  • Eiffel Tower (don’t bother going up it though!)

  • Montemarte (my favourite, it’s touristy and busy but the best atmosphere)

  • Arc de triumph

  • Luxumbourg gardens (my favourite spot I loved it so much! Great place to sit and have a picnic)

  • Muses D’Orsay

  • Louvre

  • Palais Garnier (on my list for next time!)

Bakeries & Cafes

  • 100% fait Maison Bakery

  • Pattisier Boulanger Bakery

  • Cafe Kitsune (great for coffee only or tea in my case!)

  • Happy Caffe - the best crepes you’ll ever try (doesn’t look like much from the outside just down from Cafe Kitsune!)

  • Leandres (great for juices and healthy breakfast)

  • Culotte (great for sweet treats!)

On my list for next time:

Restaurants

Bars

  • Chez Prune (a must and right near Les Enfants and only 3 euros for a wine!)

  • L’epicier (hidden behind a deli, not been yet but was recommended)

  • Bisou (beautiful cocktail bar)

  • Perruche (pretty rooftop bar - great for lunch too and looks on to the Eiffel Tower!)

Shopping

  • Marche aux puces (antique street market)

  • Galleries Lafayette

  • Le Bon Marche (dreamy department store just to wander around!)
