The Hoxton, Rome; ideal city escape!

Stayed at the wonderful Hoxton Hotel in Rome last week and loved it; from the decor to the location it was perfect for our one night stay! We used this as a stopover before getting on a Celebrity Cruise for a family holiday the following day. I've only been to Rome once and it was a very long time ago so I was excited to go back and tick off a few sights for the 24 hours we had there! I have also liked the Hoxton Hotels having stayed at their Shoreditch one and had dinner/drinks in their Paris location. Would highly recommend it if you don't want to stay right in the tourist areas of Rome!

Location 8/10: The hotel is located 30 minute walk to main attractions like the Trevi Fountain or 10 minute taxi ride. Within easy walking distance though is lots of lovely restaurants, supermarket and a huge park. It was perfect for us as we only did one night and we didn't want to in a really busy area - if you are happy not having all the tourist spots on your doorstep this location is ideal.

Room 9/10: We had standard rooms for our booking which were lovely with a laid back chic vibe and a view overlooking pretty buildings! The shower was one of the best I've used in a hotel! The beds were also super comfy and they had lovely finishing touches with the complimentary drinks and snacks variety.

Dining 8/10: We didn't have dinner here as we wanted something traditional Italian due to only being in the city for one night but we did have a delicious breakfast. It had lots of choice from fresh pressed juices to avocado toast! We also had drinks at the bar outside on their patio before going out for dinner which they gave us a complimentary platter of risotto balls, tomato & mozzarella and ciabatta! It had a really great atmosphere with a DJ playing. We had lunch at Fra Diavola which was a delicious pizzeria which I would recommend (I think they have a few in Rome!). We had then dinner at Casa Mia which was just round the corner from the hotel and was a very authentic, family run restaurant and oh my goodness the pasta was absolutely to die for!

Value for money 9/10: As I said we had standard rooms for one night on a Friday at this was £225 including breakfast. Considering the fact it was a weekend in July in a busy tourist city I think this is really reasonable for a well known boutique hotel! The only reason I wouldn't give it a 10 would be because it is a 30 minute walk to the tourist sights however this type of hotel closer to attractions was £300+ with no breakfast!

THE GETAWAY GUIDE FEELING 8/10: I really love the Hoxton Hotel's they have such a laid back atmosphere with such a chic flare! The outdoor space was my favourite part of the hotel and the lounging space was much larger than the Hoxton in Paris! I would definitely stay again and looking forward to staying at more Hoxton hotels!
